CLAYFACE — DC STUDIOS ENTERS THE WORLD OF HORROR
CLAYFACE COULD BE ONE OF DC’S MOST UNUSUAL MOVIES YET
DC Studios is preparing something very different from the traditional superhero blockbuster.
Clayface is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on October 23, 2026, bringing elements of body horror, psychological thriller and comic-book storytelling into the growing DC Universe.
The movie focuses on actor Matt Hagen, whose life changes dramatically following an experimental procedure.
What begins as an attempt to transform his life soon turns into something horrifying as Hagen’s body begins undergoing disturbing physical changes, eventually leading to the creation of one of Batman’s most unusual enemies — Clayface.
The film is directed by James Watkins, with Tom Rhys Harries taking on the central role of Matt Hagen.
Rather than relying purely on the traditional superhero formula, Clayface is expected to explore darker themes involving identity, transformation, ambition and the physical consequences of Hagen’s decisions.
It could become one of the boldest projects produced under the new DC Studios banner.
